Important Notice to NJ Gateway Debit Card

To better protect our members from increased fraudulent
international transactions, NJ Gateway Federal Credit Union
will not allow international transactions to be performed
using your debit card (except Canada). This action is
inclusive for both “in person” and “card not present”
transactions. For example, any purchase made online to a
merchant located in a country outside of the United States,
will not process when using your NJ Gateway FCU debit card.
Please use another form of payment. Your NJ Gateway
FCU debit card cannot be unblocked to allow international
online purchases; however, we can allow “card present”
international transactions for a specified time period if we
are notified. We apologize for any inconvenience, but feel
the increased protection of our members is necessary and
For your security, we have a fraud protection program
monitoring for suspicious or unusual transactions, i.e.
transactions that are not normally associated with your
card. Without notifying us, your card may be blocked
for potential fraudulent use if our card processor is unable
to reach you to verify your transactions. It is in your best
interest to provide us with your current contact information
should we need to get in touch with you.
Please call us when you plan to travel, let us know the
dates you are traveling and which cities and countries you
will be visiting. At that time your account can be set up
for the area you will be visiting or for international
transactions during a specified period of time. Please call
